Experts recommend cleaning the mattress at least once every six months, because skin (ew), dust, sweat and other allergens can easily accumulate on the surface of the mattress.

Cleaning enthusiasts shared how to use Kmart equipment to do this on TikTok, which produced a rough but very satisfying result. Carolina McAuley shared how she used Kmart's $49 UV handheld vacuum cleaner on the mattress, and she was taken aback.
