Cordless vacuum cleaners have become very popular for many reasons. Compared with traditional vertical machines, they are lighter, smaller and easier to use. They usually come with many accessories for specific tasks and floor types.

Combine all of this with no frustrating power cord dragging and dropping, and it's easy to see why these devices are uniquely functional cleaners. If you are still hesitant about whether you should use a cordless vacuum cleaner, then this guide is for you. Here, I will list all the reasons why cordless vacuum cleaners are better than older corded models. 

The weight of a standard corded upright vacuum cleaner can easily exceed 15 pounds, and in some cases as much as 22 pounds. Dyson’s latest cordless vacuum cleaner, V15 Detect, makes the scale less than half of its tilt (6.8 lbs). Our current mid-range cordless vacuum pickup Tineco A11 Hero is lighter (5.5 pounds).

Even Dyson's more powerful model Outsize is only 7.8 pounds. When you draw a vacuum, these lighter loads translate into smaller strains. This makes the task feel less cumbersome.  

Because of its slender stick-like appearance, cordless vacuum cleaners are often referred to as stick cleaners. This ultra-thin design style also means that they are more compact than traditional upright vacuum cleaners. Since most cordless vacuum cleaners come with many modular, replaceable accessories, you can configure them smaller.

Remove their long sticks and reconnect their cleaning heads to transform the cordless vacuum cleaner into a highly mobile handheld vacuum cleaner, perfect for cleaning stairs or entering corners or other small spaces. Switch the crack tool and you now have a sofa or car vacuum cleaner. Change the wand back, and connect a dust removal head, and you have a remote dust collector. The list is endless.  

I cannot emphasize enough how convenient it is to vacuum without a power cord. When you are walking around the room, there will no longer be accidental sockets being unplugged. You no longer need to worry about being entangled in chairs and table legs, or knocking down fragile objects. You can go to any place where the vacuum is suitable as you want.

Those who are worried about running out of power during cleaning, please consider this: many newer models offer removable battery packs. In this way, you can replace used batteries with new ones when necessary. Some models are even equipped with charging stations that can charge two batteries at the same time. Currently, Samsung and LG have products with this feature in their product lineups.

Top Samsung and LG vacuum cleaners go one step further. Similar to high-end robot vacuum cleaners, both products are equipped with a charging base that can automatically empty the trash can.

With the V15 Detect vacuum cleaner, Dyson has taken a different technological path. Detect is equipped with a sensor that can record the size and number of dust particles it picks up, instead of advanced charging docks and bases. Also interesting is the "Laser Slim Fluffy" cleaning head. It emits a green laser to illuminate the originally invisible dust on the floor.
