STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A new shopping event for Amazon Prime members will kick off the holiday shopping season next week.

Amazon will host the Prime Early Access Sale, a new two-day global shopping event exclusive to Prime members. It begins Oct. 11 at 3 a.m. and runs through Oct. 12. Deals will drop throughout the event to offer deep savings across top categories, including electronics, fashion, home, kitchen, pets, toys and Amazon devices.

Consumers need to be a Prime member to cash in on the savings. If you’re not a Prime member yet, anyone can join and start a 30-day free trial at amazon.com/primeday to participate in the sale, get access to fast and free shipping, and enjoy entertainment benefits, like Prime Video, Prime Music and more.

Prime members pay an annual membership rate of $139 per year, or $14.99 per month. Prime student members pay $69 per year, or $7.49 per month. EBT and Medicaid recipients can snag a monthly rate of $6.99.
